OptoSmart recently completed the first phase of the massive Etihad Rail infrastructure project. Therefore, we successfully delivered 180 off-grid smart solar poles. Furthermore, these innovative columns feature 360-degree hexagonal solar panels and integrated CCTV capabilities.
Large-scale transportation hubs require reliable and sustainable illumination. Consequently, the Etihad Rail project demanded a robust, off-grid lighting solution. Traditional grid-tied systems often involve expensive trenching and heavy cabling. However, our advanced smart solar poles completely eliminate these massive infrastructure costs. As a result, they provide immediate, clean energy illumination for critical transit zones.
Efficiency is absolutely crucial in off-grid street lighting. Therefore, we engineered these specific columns with a unique hexagonal profile. First, this custom design allows the solar panels to seamlessly wrap around the entire pole. Because of this, the luminaire achieves a full 360-degree solar harvesting angle. Consequently, the system captures maximum sunlight from dawn until dusk. Ultimately, this ensures uninterrupted battery charging regardless of the installation orientation.
A modern transit hub requires much more than just light. Passenger safety and site security are top priorities for facility managers. For this reason, our modular architecture easily supports additional IoT hardware. Specifically, we integrated high-definition CCTV cameras directly onto the robust pole structure. As a result, authorities gain real-time visual monitoring without needing separate, visually cluttered security masts.
Scaling sustainable infrastructure is our primary mission at OptoSmart. Indeed, we have already manufactured and delivered 180 units for this initial phase. Furthermore, these intelligent columns are now actively illuminating the station’s approach roads and pedestrian walkways.
